TEACHING A WHOLE LIFE FOR A LIFETIME
The Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” For Seventh-day Adventists, education extends even further—it reaches the soul. When it comes to learning, our multifaceted lives require a multifaceted approach, and Adventists aim to provide the complete package. We strive to approach the child as a whole.
• Building a Christian character.
• Developing a wholesome attitude towards society, the church, the school, and the government.
• Attaining a high concept of service to God and man.
We provide children with an environment that demonstrates love, compassion, trust and understanding, which will greatly impact a child’s mental health. We achieve academic excellence through excellence in learning and excellence in scholarship (creative thinking, critical thinking, analyzing).
At Aurum Seventh-day Adventist Academy, learners are taught the value of self-worth within a Christian context. The qualities of self-control, self-discipline, tolerance toward others, and the acceptance of responsibility for one’s own actions are promoted. Habits of courtesy, decorum, and graciousness are also strongly emphasized as being part of everyday life.
A high standard of achievement in physical areas is consistent with the school’s philosophy of excellence in all areas and contributes to a holistic lifestyle. All learners are expected to participate in the physical activity programme, which allows learners to develop a variety of skills. All learners are expected to take part in gardening and agriculture and the daily clean-up programme.
